Statistics and Fun Facts About the Match Against Palermo

27 October 2026

Pisa Sporting Club is gearing up to face Palermo tomorrow (Cetilar Arena, 7:00 p.m.) in a match for Matchday 9 of the Serie BKT Championship. Let’s take a look at the statistics and interesting facts about the upcoming match, courtesy of Opta Facts by Stats Perform:

  • Pisa and Palermo have faced each other 34 times in Serie BKT, with the Tuscan side leading 13 wins to 11 (10 draws). Pisa is coming off three straight wins against the Sicilians and is aiming to win four consecutive games against the Rosanero for the first time in its history in the competition.
  • Pisa is undefeated in its last nine Serie BKT home games against Palermo; its last home loss to the Rosanero dates back to March 17, 1968 (0-1). That match, along with the 0-0 draw on March 26, 1967, represents one of only two occasions in which the Tuscan side failed to score at home against the Sicilians in the competition.
  • Pisa has never repeated the same result in its last nine Serie BKT home games (5W, 1D, 3L); however, following their most recent victory (3-1 vs. Cremonese), the Nerazzurri could celebrate two consecutive home wins in the league for the first time since February–March 2025 (back-to-back 3-1 wins against Juve Stabia and Mantova under head coach Filippo Inzaghi).
  • Following victories over Empoli (4-2) and Mantova (2-0), Palermo could record three consecutive away wins in Serie BKT for the first time since August–September 2024 (three under head coach Alessio Dionisi). The last time the Rosanero recorded two away wins with clean sheets in the competition, however, was in May 2014.
  • Palermo has earned 10 points in its first four away games of this season (3W, 1D); if they beat Pisa, the Rosanero would match their best-ever start on the road in Serie BKT, reaching 13 points in their first five away games of the season, as they did in the 2023–24 season.
  • After losing two of their first four Serie B games this season, Pisa remained unbeaten in the next four (2W, 2D); furthermore, after failing to score in their season opener, the team scored in each of the following seven games, averaging 2.1 goals per game.
  • Palermo has recorded seven wins and one draw in its first eight games of this Serie BKT season; in the era of three points per win, the only two teams to win eight of their first nine games of the season were Juventus in 2006–07 and Sassuolo in 2012–13, both of which went on to finish in first place.
  • Pisa and Palermo are the two teams with the most different goal scorers in this Serie BKT season (10 each).
  • Mattéo Tramoni of Pisa and Dennis Johnsen of Palermo are among the top three players in assists in this Serie BKT season, with four and five assists, respectively, tied with Alessandro Castellini of Mantova (four). For Tramoni, those four assists already mark his personal best in a single season of the second-division tournament.
  • Dennis Johnsen leads Serie BKT this season in total shots (31) and shots on goal (50), with Mattéo Tramoni (43) in third place. With five goals already to his credit, the forward is close to matching his single-season scoring record in the second division, set at six goals in the 2024–25 season with Cremonese.
