The Serie B League is once again joining forces with Komen Italia this year to support the seventh edition of the national campaign “Prevention Is Our Masterpiece,” promoted during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Health.
On Matchdays 6 and 7, the Serie BKT league will promote awareness of the importance of prevention and early diagnosis through a series of initiatives involving all clubs and the league’s main channels.
“Sports have a unique ability to reach a broad and diverse audience, and soccer, thanks to its visibility, can become an important tool for promoting initiatives that extend beyond the field,” notes Serie B League President Paolo Bedin. “—. That is why we are proud to renew our partnership with Komen Italia—through our corporate social responsibility and sustainability platform, B4People—and to make Serie BKT available for such a noble campaign that deserves widespread attention. We hope that this season, too, our stadiums, our clubs, and the entire Serie B family will stand together, united in this journey of awareness and solidarity. “.
“Physical activity is one of the cornerstones of primary prevention, and for this very reason, having the Lega Serie B by our side is a source of great pride for us at Komen Italia, ” emphasizes Prof. Riccardo Masetti, founder of Komen Italia. “—”. In fact, sports are an extraordinary tool for reaching and engaging an ever-wider audience and for conveying important messages related to health and prevention. On the sixth and seventh matchdays of the Serie BKT season, all players will take the field wearing the Pink Ribbon, helping to bring the message of prevention into the spotlight and raise awareness among fans and supporters about the importance of taking care of their health. This symbolic yet highly meaningful gesture will play a significant role in reinforcing and spreading the message of the campaign “Prevention Is Our Masterpiece.”
Stadiums will feature LED displays along the sidelines dedicated to the campaign, accompanied by announcements from the public address system and videos on the giant screens to draw the audience’s attention to the importance of taking care of one’s health. The campaign will also be featured prominently on LaB Channel during its television programming.
The message will also be promoted across digital channels, with a promotional banner on the legab.it website and dedicated content on the main social media platforms of Lega Serie B and the clubs, to reach fans and supporters throughout Italy.
Komen Italia’s iconic Pink Ribbon—a symbol of the fight against breast cancer—will also serve as a tangible expression of support for the campaign. It will accompany interviews with the key figures of the two championship days and, once again this year, has illuminated the Colosseum and the headquarters of the two ministries.
Komen Italia’s Commitment – For over twenty years, Komen Italia has been committed to the fight against breast cancer through prevention, awareness-raising, health education, and support for research. The seventh edition of the “Prevention Is Our Masterpiece” campaign involves over 100 Italian cities with a program of initiatives that includes 6 weekly stops, 4 Race for the Cure events, 96 Walk for the Cure events, and various sports and cultural events, culminating in the grand closing event scheduled for November 9 at the Colosseum. Special attention is given to women who face greater difficulties in accessing preventive care: through the mobile units of the “Carovana della Prevenzione” (Prevention Caravan), Komen Italia offers free mammograms, ultrasounds, clinical examinations, and specialist consultations, with the goal of reaching over 6,000 women during the campaign. Early diagnosis makes it possible to identify the disease in its initial stages and treat it more effectively, with cure rates that can exceed 90%. This is a concrete commitment to help reduce inequalities in access to healthcare and foster a genuine culture of prevention throughout the country.
