The Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie B announces that the draw ceremony for the 2026/2027 season’s league schedule will be held in the beautiful setting of Ascoli Piceno.
The event, which marks the official start of the new soccer season—the 95th in Serie B history—will take place on July 22. The decision to hold the presentation in Ascoli comes after the last General Assembly on June 4, when bids were invited to host what is effectively the first event of the new season.
Two proposals were received, and the decision was made to choose the city in the Marche region known as the “City of Travertine”—a true showcase of the Renaissance, as evidenced by the centrally located Piazza del Popolo, considered one of the most harmonious squares in Italy. As always, the Lega Serie B’s choice combines the region’s great soccer tradition with the promotion of the historical and cultural heritage of the league’s teams. Last year, the spotlight was on Mantua, with Palazzo Te, reflecting the desire for the calendar not merely to chart the season’s sporting course, but to map out the beauty of Italy.
