On Sunday 15 March, Pisa Sporting Club hosted a match between two teams from the Parish of St Peter the Apostle in San Piero a Grado at the Cetilar Arena, as part of the pre-match entertainment for the Pisa v Cagliari fixture.<\/p>\n\n

The players from the blue team, captained by Luca Giannelli, celebrated their 5-2 victory over the white team, though everyone was aware that they had shared a unique experience, one that bridges the gap between grassroots sport and elite sport. This is a goal that the Philadelphia Junior Cup\u2019s sports and education programme has been pursuing for thirteen editions, particularly through discussions centred on the project\u2019s core values: friendship, respect and inclusion. <\/p>\n\n
Earlier this month, Pisa Sporting Club hosted the seventh of 20 in-depth sessions as part of the project, in support of the \u201cKeep Racism Out\u201d awareness campaign against racism and all forms of discrimination, promoted by Lega Calcio Serie A in collaboration with UNAR, the National Office against Racial Discrimination under the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. At the event, held at the Cetilar Arena on Tuesday 3 March, young footballers from the same parish and boys and girls from the Nerazzurri youth academy discussed the key themes of the project alongside Idrissa Tour\u00e9, a midfielder for Pisa Sporting Club. <\/p>\n\n

In addition, the athletes have the chance to experience life as top-level champions by stepping onto the pitches of Serie A Enilive, either through special walkabouts or by taking to the field for pre-match warm-ups in the top-flight league, as happened last Sunday on the pitch at the Cetilar Arena.<\/p>\n\n
During the months of the competition, from January to May, the young players compete in the territorial, regional and interregional stages, until the eight teams are decreed to fly to Rome to elect the champion team of the edition, with an exceptional final to be played on the grounds of the capital’s Olympic Stadium, just before the Frecciarossa Italian Cup Final.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
